Instead of filtering the full system flow, a side stream filtration system filters a selected portion of the water and returns clean water back to the main loop. Side Stream Filtration is a filtration arrangement where a portion of circulating water is diverted from the main system, passed through a filter, and then returned back to the system. This continuous cleaning process gradually improves water quality without disturbing normal plant operation. How Side Stream Filtration Works A side stream filtration system works by continuously taking a partial flow from the main circulating water system and passing it through a suitable filtration unit.
