Bio Sewage Treatment Plant

DISTINCTIVE ADVANTAGES OF BIO-STP
  • Disposes human waste in a 100% ECO friendly manner.
  • Generates colorless, odorless inflammable Bio gas(can be used for cooking heating) and absolutely clear odorless water. Water is full of nutrients and minerals and is good for irrigation purpose of nearby gardens, lawns etc.
  • Suitable for sub zero temperature of Himalayan Region, Glaciers, Highways, Remote areas, Sea Ports, Mining area, Metro Cities etc.
  • 100% maintenance free, continuous Biological process.
  • Complete elimination of pathogens.
  • Economically viable.
  • No dependence on the limited and costly conventional energy sources.
  • Can be installed and made operational in least Time-duration.
  • Inoculums charging is only once during the entire life of Bio STP.
  • No need of connectivity to the sewage line, septic tank.  No disposal of sludge is required.

Bio Sewage Treatment Plant

For handling large quanity of human waste in a economical and eco-friendly way

All organic waste disposal in India is a burning problem. The problem has further aggravated in rural places in India & responsible for spreading of Water Born Diseases like Typhoid, Cholera, Shigellosis, Amoebic Dysenteries and Diarrhoea etc. With help of this Bio Sewage Treatment Plant (BIO – STP) Technology we can overcome with all these problems and make our environment better to live.

Technology Behind Bio Sewage Treatment Plant

This technology is suitable for any area/ application in India. The process under this technology culminates in to treated effluent which is free from Pathogens and is also environmentally acceptable. The technology has major three components:

A- Low temp active inoculums/AMI
B- Bio-Digesters
C- Reed Beds

A consortium of Anaerobic Microbial Inoculum (AMI) has been formulated and adopted to work at temperature as low as -52°C to 50°C. This is the component which acts as inoculums (seed material) to the bio digester and converts the organic waste into biogas and carbon dioxide. The anaerobic process inactivates the pathogens responsible for water borne diseases. The optimum temperature is maintained by microbial heat, insulation of the reactor. The Outlet from bio digester is directly fed into the Reed Bed System, the final effluent is clear clean water.

BIO- STP(SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT) IS DESIGNED WITH FOLLOWING COMPONENT:-

  • BIO DIGESTER SYSTEM
  • REED-BED SYSTEM

1. BIO DIGESTER SYSTEM:

Bio Sewage Treatment Plant technology, developed and approved by DRDO-Ministry of Defence, represents an innovative approach to disposing of organic waste in an eco-friendly manner. These Bio Sewage Treatment Plants utilize bio digesters capable of operating within a wide range of atmospheric temperatures, from -55°C to 60°C. Remarkably, the bacterial consortium within these digesters can degrade night soil even at temperatures as low as -55°C, yielding colourless, odourless, and inflammable biogas comprising 50%-70% methane.

At the heart of Bio Sewage Treatment Plants are Advanced Microbial Inoculants (AMI), which are introduced into the bio digester at a capacity of 40% of its volume. Black and grey water from housing complexes, villages, and public areas are channeled into these Bio Sewage Treatment Plants. Within the digesters, microbial reactions facilitate the degradation of night soil, transforming it into biogas and clean water.

The process effectively eliminates the foul odor of night soil, eradicates disease-causing organisms, and significantly reduces solid waste by up to 90% on a dry weight basis. The resulting gaseous effluent, or biogas, is continuously released into the atmosphere, or alternatively, it can be harnessed for various energy-intensive activities such as cooking, water heating, and room heating. Meanwhile, the liquid effluent can be safely drained into any surface or soak pit without posing any environmental hazards.

2. REED-BED SYSTEM:

Bio Sewage Treatment Plants, utilizing reed bed technology, have emerged as a leading method for wastewater treatment worldwide. These Bio Sewage Treatment Plants leverage reed beds, which are vertical flow subsurface constructed wetlands, representing a significant advancement in water and waste treatment. Unlike traditional activated waste processes, reed bed technology offers highly effective systems for treating various contaminants such as ammonia, BOD, COD, suspended solids, organic chemicals, chlorinated organic chemicals, industrial solvents, and hydrocarbons.

The beauty of Bio Sewage Treatment Plants lies in their reliance on biological processes, consuming no energy, requiring no chemicals, and having no moving parts, thus operating in a carbon-neutral manner. With a track record spanning over two decades across Europe and the US, these systems manage and treat diverse wastewater streams, including domestic wastewater, water treatment waste, leachate, contaminated groundwater, and industrial process water. Remarkably, Bio Sewage Treatment Plants continue to function with minimal maintenance requirements.

We specialize in designing and installing Bio Sewage Treatment Plants tailored to treat various waste streams, including domestic wastewater, industrial wastes, contaminated wastes, and mine waters. Our Bio Sewage Treatment Plants effectively transform and remove a range of contaminants, including organic loads (BOD), petrochemicals, solvents, suspended solids, sediments, metals, and nutrients.
